Snorkeling and diving
The Indian Ocean, with its warm and colourful waters, is truly a paradise and an ideal location for many sea activities. The surface hides an ecosystem of exceptional beauty: a still intact coral reef overflowing with life. The seabed reaches 50 meters maximum depth and consists of corals – including the famous coral column – combs, Georgian coral and sponges. You will be surrounded by a multitude of colorful fish and sometimes turtles and dolphins.
Scuba diving activities from beaches and islands are organized in collaboration with a local tourism association.
Fishing: the Indian Ocean hosts many varieties of fish as Marlin, Sailfish, Dorado, Wahoo, Yellow Fin Tuna, King Fish and Barracuda. Fishing lovers cannot miss to participate to expeditions with local fishermen on the traditional dhows or on sailing boats. We can provide you with fishing equipment, life jackets and a skipper. Fishing trips are organized with the collaboration of other resorts.
Cultural Tourism: we collaborate with the cutural tourism office at Pangani town to take you to many interesting cultural and historical places. They can also arrange tours to the Pangani estuary.
Cycling: we can arrange cycle tours in the surrounding of the lodge, up to 20 kms for the more adventurous and around 5 for the average tourist.
Canoes: We will soon have canoes to explore the mangrove forests and the ocean pools.
Bird watching: Our area is a good place for birdwatching. Tanzania has the highest bird diversity of eastern Africa: more than 1,000 different species of which 30 are endemic. You will be able to admire waders, sea eagles, migrant bea-eaters and many more. Check the Tanzania Bird Atlas for more information.
